Wimborne Minster Pancake Race
THE WIMBORNE MINSTER PANCAKE RACE IS TO RUN AGAIN ON TUESDAY 13th FEBRUARY
The Pancake Race around the Minster is all set to run again this year. It will be the twenty first race since it was revived in 1998 after an absence of some 16 years.
The races take place on Shrove Tuesday, 13th February starting at 11.00am outside the main entrance to the Minster. The first heat will be run whilst the Pancake Bell is tolled. All competitors should report to the North Porch by 10.30am to enrol, complete with frying pan and ready cooked pancake.
All competitors have to do, is run round the Minster, starting at the North Porch tossing their pancakes at the four corners of the church.
There will be races for all ages, Adults, Under 18’s, toddlers and those confined to wheelchairs. Prizes will be presented to the winners in the different categories. So have we some challengers to become the Minster Pancake Champion 2018?
Anyone can enter their respective categories--male or female, young or old, individuals, schools, groups and organisations - all are welcome.
