Fairtrade makes a real difference to the lives of the producers. Being committed to using fairly traded tea and coffee (and other products)
the Minster demonstrates its concern to work for justice for all. In co-operation with the Fairtrade Foundation Wimborne Minster became a Fairtrade
Church in October 2003 by fulfilling the following goals:
- Fairtrade teas and coffees are used at all meetings hosted by the church organisations/personnel in the church, church house and church offices
- An awareness campaign is undertaken to encourage consumption of fair-trade goods by members of the congregation in their own homes
- The Minster's commitment to fair trade is advertised prominently in the church and church house as an essential component of the Minster's life and mission
- The use of fair trade goods is commended (on a leaflet) to those booking church/church house when booking forms are issued
- At least one prominent event is arranged in Fairtrade Fortnight (March) to increase fair trade usage in the local community
