Family Service - All Age Worship

The 11.15 Family Service is for those who prefer an informal style of worship. There is Holy Communion every first and third Sunday. On the first Sunday of the month this is in the Minster crypt and is followed by a "Bring and Share" lunch. Every other Sunday worship is in the upstairs hall of Church House.

Services, usually based on the lectionary, are led by teams of clergy and lay people. Although services follow the same basic format, there is great variety in our worship, and they can be fun and educational at the same time.

We are conscious of the need for appropriate teaching for both adults and children. Often the adults have a talk/discussion and Bible study, while, in a separate area, the younger children take part in a story time with craft or drama. We have a variety of musicians and musical styles with both old and new hymns and songs using flags or percussion where appropriate.

The services usually last for 45 minutes and are followed by coffee or squash, and biscuits. We enjoy a variety of social activities e.g. beach service and picnic, skittles evenings, and Christmas Panto outings and tea.

Newcomers and visitors are always especially welcome.
