Hinton Martell
St John the Evangelist, BH21 7HE
The ancient church of St John the Evangelist, with links to the Monastery at Wimborne, burnt down in 1868. Rebuilt in 1870 by Hicks and Crickman, it is possible that their apprentice , Thomas Hardy assisted. Built in the early English style, it boasts a five-bell Tower, and a 13th century Purbeck stone font.
